    Register for morning routine at Hasedera Temple

    * Reception starts at 6:30 from Oct. 1 to Mar. 31

    See the morning temple service at Hasedera Temple (40 min.)

    The sutras echo through the crisp morning air. In these moments, you will truly experience something sacred.

    You can view the 11-faced Kannon (Buddhist goddess of mercy), the principle image of worship here. If the special exhibition is on, you should go inside to take a look.

    The size of the statue and the level of detail are sure to impress. It’s a chance to commune with the spirit of Buddhism.

    Take a stroll around the temple then descend the mountain.

    Don’t forget to stop and see the beautiful main temple and the five-story pagoda!

    Onoji Temple 

    Go to see the great Buddha at the riverside quay.

    * Buses come once per hour, so take care not to miss one

    Visit Murouji Temple

    There are many national treasures within the temple’s grounds, including the hall itself, the five-story pagoda, and the Buddha statues.
    Make sure to take it all in! The Buddha statues in particular are must-sees.

    Head toward Oku-no-In.

    Take the stone steps, hedged by towering cedars, one by one on the way upwards.

    Arrive at Oku-no-In. Take a moment’s rest to recover.

    Start back down the stone steps to the temple’s entrance.

    Leave the temple. Take a tea break in the town around Murouji Temple.
    Afterwards, hunt for souvenirs in the area.
